I-hate-this-game is a game that requires you to play it very fast. You’re fighting with time in every level, and the first to reach the finish line will win. But what if it’s not that simple? What if there are some rules behind this whole speedrunning thing? And what if we’re not just chasing numbers or wins, but helping kids with intellectual disabilities become better and faster? I-hate-this-game was created by a team of developers with a lot of experience in creating fast games for various platforms. The goal was to create an accessible game that kids could enjoy without feeling like they were playing against the clock. So how do you go from making an accessible game for iOS to creating one for the Nintendo Switch???? For anyone who knows me, you know I love video games and especially video game franchises that make me feel like I’m actually playing them as opposed to just watching them onscreen. I grew up playing Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong, Galaga, and many more classic platformers. When I played my first NES years ago, all I could think about was getting through each level as quickly as possible so I could get back to adventuring in the Mushroom Kingdom again.
