Imposter's Challenge: Imposters face the constant challenge of eliminating crewmates without drawing attention to themselves. They must carefully time their actions, create alibis, and even sabotage key systems on the ship to throw crewmates off their trail. The need for deception adds a layer of psychological challenge, as imposters must stay calm under pressure.
Crewmate's Challenge: Crewmates, on the other hand, must work together to complete tasks while identifying the imposter(s) in their midst. This creates an environment of paranoia and suspicion, where every action is scrutinized, and trust is hard to come by. Crewmates must balance completing their tasks with gathering evidence to expose the imposter.
Task Completion
Crewmates are assigned various tasks to complete throughout the game. While seemingly straightforward, these tasks are often a source of tension and distraction, as they pull players away from monitoring the behavior of others.
Distraction from Imposters: While crewmates focus on tasks, imposters have the opportunity to strike. The challenge for crewmates is maintaining awareness of their surroundings while performing their duties, as focusing too much on tasks can lead to vulnerability.
Fake Tasks for Imposters: Imposters are also assigned fake tasks to perform, which they must pretend to complete to avoid suspicion. Timing these fake tasks correctly, and making them appear convincing, adds an additional layer of challenge for imposters.
